ALEXANDRA "ALLIE" DEMERS, DPT - Pelvic Physical TherapistAllie received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of Maryland, Baltimore in 2011. She began her career as a Woman’s Health Physical Therapist at an outpatient clinic in Maryland immediately after graduation. While there she gained specialized training and mentorship in the treatment of pelvic floor dysfunction.
After relocating to North Carolina in 2012 Allie continued her passion for Women’s Health working in a specialized Women’s Health practice with a focus on pelvic floor dysfunction, lymphedema treatment and breast cancer rehab. Allie has taken advanced courses in Women’s and Men’s Health issues, pediatric pelvic floor dysfunction and visceral manipulation. She has a particular interest in treating pregnancy and post-partum related issues and is working towards her certification as a Pregnancy and Post-Partum Corrective Exercise Specialist. Allie has provided lectures in Women’s Health special topics to the students in the physical therapy and athletic training programs at East Carolina University. Allie is a compassionate therapist who uses her specialized training and evidenced-based practice to create individualized treatment programs that focus on the whole person. Allie recently relocated to Florida and was previously working at a growing Women’s Health Clinic where she was Lead Therapist and the Director of the pediatric pelvic floor program. She currently lives in Oviedo with her husband, three children and their dog, Palmer.
