Why is Sher Pelvic Health unique?
"We are dedicated to providing each patient with a customized experience. We look at each patient encounter as an opportunity to make a positive, long-lasting effect on decreasing pain (if applicable), improving daily function and movement, and exceeding goals set. Each case is a puzzle or a mystery and I relish an opportunity to put all of the pieces together. So many patients go for YEARS to a variety of healthcare professionals, but never get the care and attention they need and deserve. It is time to take personal health issues seriously and really make a DIFFERENCE. " ~ Tracy Sher
What can I expect?
* We spend 1.5 -2 hours with you on your initial visit. This is crucial to establishing a good understanding of your medical history, symptoms, initiating a treatment plan, and providing ways to start managing at home. You will not find this anywhere else.
* The assessments and treatments are based on the very latest research AND are clinically proven.
* Less is more! You don't have to come in 1-2 times a week if you don't need to. Sometimes even just 1 time a month is enough (and just a few visits). If you choose to do more visits (or come from far), we can see if it is appropriate for your case.
* The best results depend on YOUR opinions, input, and "homework" . We facilitate your care to set you up for success. This is not just passive treatments without an end in sight. In fact, we can usually tell if this is on the right track in 3-6 visits.
* It is a holistic, conservative approach to care. We also help you figure out the full course of care, not just the physical therapy part. If you need to see other healthcare professionals, we will make recommendations. At this practice - no stirrups or speculums.* Team approach with patient collaboration and therapist facilitation for optimal results. One patient stated, "I actually feel like my opinions matter and the treatments are adjusted based on my status and input."
* Emphasis placed on a whole-person approach, not just a body part.
* Case management of care, that may involve adding other healthcare professionals or services to ensure complete care. This can be arranged long-distance as well.
* Specialized programs and treatment for pelvic pain, pregnancy and postpartum, and much more (stay tuned for program and group information)
Do we accept health insurance?
We are considered a private pay clinic/out of network provider. This means that you pay for services at the time of service without hidden fees or need for negotiated rates. This results in increased time devoted to 1:1 care.
We can provide a superbill, if you need it to submit to your insurance. We provide the codes and charges and you submit the forms for reimbursement if your health insurance allows that. If you would like to consider reimbursement from insurance, we recommend that you contact your insurance company and ask if you have any "out of network benefits for physical therapy" and they will advise on that. If you are eligible for reimbursement, find out where to send your superbill receipts from us. You will get reimbursed directly from insurance. We do not interact with insurance companies directly.
Can I schedule an evaluation without a prescription from a physician?
YES. The state of Florida is direct access, which means you can see a physical therapist for up to 30 days (from the day of the first visit) without a prescription. We can also help you get a plan of care signed once we see you, which will serve as a prescription.
What if I have Medicare/Medicaid - even if I want to pay directly?
Unfortunately if you are Medicare age and have Medicare (even as a secondary insurance) or disability via Medicare, as an out of network provider, Medicare beneficiaries are not considered eligible to come to our clinic - even if you pay out of pocket. It's a Medicare rule. Read more
Can I use an FSA/HSA card?
Yes - you can use this type of card if it functions like a credit card.
How can you schedule an appointment?
You have a few options: Fill out the registration form on the home page of the website at www.sherpelvic.com, email us at info@sherpelvic.com, call 407-900-2876.
What forms of payment are accepted?
All forms of payment - cash, all credit cards, check accepted.
How many sessions are usually needed?
Our goal is to help you get on with your best life as soon as possible. We typically recommend 4-6 visits initially, which can be spaced out. Some people find they only need an evaluation, while others may need more extensive therapy. All of this is discussed at your evaluation and a plan is made with you and by you as well.

- Do you coordinate care with other health care professionals? Yes! Our goal is to provide comprehensive care and foster a team approach when helping you. We regularly see patients from out of town or even from out of the country. Also, please don't let finances stand in the way of getting exceptional care. We'll figure out a way to make sure that you are connected to a great team of appropriate health professionals. You can see your PT for periodic consultations or for regular care. We look forward to being a part of your team.
- What should I wear on the first visit? The type of attire is not important on the first day. Wear whatever clothing is comfortable for you - from business attire to gym workout clothes.
- What if I am menstruating? Typically, menstruation is not an issue for evaluations and treatments. However, if you would feel more comfortable changing your appointment, that's totally fine. Rescheduling within 24 hours of your appointment may result in $50 charge.
